The year 1964 recorded a great Italian success.

From US Wallops Flight Facility, Virginia, December 15th, an Italian team launched and put in orbit the first Italian designed and built satellite. After Russia and the USA, Italy became the third country with such a score. The launch also demonstrated the intrinsic value of the two countries cooperation.

Club 2064 Outerspace has been created to strongly bolster the definition of a sound national long-range space strategy assuring to Italy a place among the main space-faring countries in the coming decades and at the time of the 2064 centenary.

The Club has Operating Groups composed by senior experts. Each Operating Group (OG) is dedicated to specific strategic issues.

As the Solar System Exploration is by default a global enterprise, the Club is looking for cooperation with American and other international entities.
